Dan Matthews is a Korean-Adoptee from Southern California, currently based in Los Angeles. Dan has been lucky enough to work as a musician most of his life, performing as an indie rap artist. Most of his songs are about identity, love, and life – inspired by much of his adoption experience. Dan is also a documentary filmmaker, producing two films about his experience as an adoptee, including a personal journey to meeting his biological family including an identical twin brother he never knew about. Outside of music & film, Dan also works as a creative in the Advertising Industry producing campaigns for brands looking to authentically speak to the Asian American Pacific Islander Community. He’s worked with the the likes of Toyota, Hennessy, AT&T, McDonald’s, and many more. He’s an advocate for AAPI storytelling and continues to use his platform to share stories from the community.
